"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Founded in 1962, and set in the beautiful landscape of the Ashdown forest, Emerson College has been home to generations of students – all who have made the journey up Pixton Hill and into the life of the community.
A holistic centre for education, Emerson is a rich environment for personal, artistic, & spiritual growth. The college runs full-time, part-time, and short courses throughout the year, as well as hosting many other events and activities for those who wish to visit the campus. This inspiring setting brings together people and ideas from all over the world to learn, work, and live in a sustainable, transformative, and natural environment.
The college is also awakening to a new phase in its biography and, throughout this golden jubilee year, will be starting new initiatives to bring fresh energy into the community.
