LIFEWAYS 2013

NEW COURSE IN BIODYNAMIC ECOLOGY

Emerson is about to launch a new full-time one year course in Biodynamic Ecology for the 2013-2014 academic year.  In December 2014 graduates of the course will receive a recognised Edexcel level 3 qualification with enough credits for University entrance as well as a Diploma in Biodynamic Ecology.  There will also be the option of finishing the course in March 2014 with an exit award.

This unique course is based on the ‘soil to table’ principle. The curriculum is built around land based teaching on the Emerson College campus which includes two market gardens in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  The course will also include visits to local biodynamic farms.  As part of the course students will grow and provide food for the Emerson community and, in view of this, both course fees and the cost of meals will be kept to a minimum.

For enquiries about the course please contact Deborah Watts, Emerson College, Forest Row, East Sussex RH18 5JX, dwatts@bdacollege.org.uk or phone her on 01342 827771.

Catching Fire: A New Course for Young Adults Finding Meaning and Purpose

About Emerson College

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Founded in 1962, and set in the beautiful landscape of the Ashdown forest, Emerson College has been home to generations of students – all who have made the journey up Pixton Hill and into the life of the community.

A holistic centre for education, Emerson is a rich environment for personal, artistic, & spiritual growth. The college runs full-time, part-time, and short courses throughout the year, as well as hosting many other events and activities for those who wish to visit the campus. This inspiring setting brings together people and ideas from all over the world to learn, work, and live in a sustainable, transformative, and natural environment.

The college is also awakening to a new phase in its biography and, throughout this golden jubilee year, will be starting new initiatives to bring fresh energy into the community. If you would like to visit the college, or find out about what’s happening on campus, you can call the main reception on +44 (0)1342 822 238 or follow us on facebook/twitter.
