Prof. Roland Matthies studied Physical Theatre / Gestural Theatre at the École de Mime Corporel Étienne Decroux and the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris as well as Speech Formation at the Alanus University in Bonn. Before he became a professor and head of department of the “Theatre in Social Context” B.A. programme at the University of Ottersberg, he worked as an actor with many directors, including Ariane Mnouchkine and Yoshi Oida. Today he is a part time professor and lecturer at the M.A. programme Performance Studies in Hamburg, at the Theaterakademie Hamburg as well as the Folkwang University of the Arts Essen. He was a scholar of the Ingmar-Bergman-Foundation in Fårö/Sweden in Summer 2014 for the staging of “Sacrifice” based on a film by Andrej Tarkovsky. He also works as an artistic consultant and trainer for international companies.


Rachel Porter, M.A. achieved a B.A. Honors Degree in Acting (Physical Theatre / Gestural Theatre) at the University of Middlesex (Course Leader : Lecoq trained John Wright).and a M.A. Degree  in Drama and Movement Therapy (Sesame) at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She is co-director of Feral Theatre as well as a lecturer (Movement with Touch and Sound) at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She is also a teacher at Agape Dance Movement therapy training and Artevelde University College in Ghent/Belgium. Rachel writes, directs and performs with Feral Theatre and in her solo work through her own company TIGERS BRIDE.

Rachel is a supervisor, consultant and conference presenter specializing in non-linguistic and multi-modal communication working with individuals and institutions.
