Strengthen your immune system holistically; Eurythmy with Katherine Beaven
Eurythmy therapy is a movement oriented therapy within Anthroposophic Medicine. Its meaningful ensouled movements help integrate us with ourselves, develop warmth, security and resilience. With specific excercises we can strengthen our immune system holistically, i.e., not only on the physical level, but also on the level of soul and spirit, and especially on the level of the life forces. Over the course of several weeks we will work with the five exercises given by Rudolf Steiner as a prophylaxis against the flu in addition to a number of other exercises.
These five exercises are part of the twelve so called “soul exercises” which Rudolf Steiner gave to doctors and eurythmists in his Eurythmy Therapy course in April 1921. He says about these exercises “the human being is taken hold of in the innermost part of his organic being and, by way of the etheric body, is actually given the opportunity to make this etheric body into a workable instrument.” He goes on to describe how “the etheric body will become supple and inwardly flexible” by working with them, thus countering constitutional one-sidednesses, the negative effects of modern life and building resilience.
Katherine Beaven has 15 years experience working as a eurythmy therapist in clinical (Raphael Hospital for neuro-rehab), residential (Nutely Hall for special needs adults) and private settings. She also co-carry the Eurythmy Therapy Training in the UK and teach on various anthroposophical courses.
