WEEKEND WORKSHOP: Passion and Logic: Dionysos and Apollo

WEEKEND WORKSHOP: Passion and Logic: Dionysos and Apollo

A storytelling weekend exploring the power, in our society, of the Ancient Greek Gods Apollo and Dionysos with Stella Kassimati.

During this weekend we will explore the energies of the Greek Gods Dionysos and Apollo, darkness and light, passion and reason, sensory and factual, and how the energies of these powerful Gods manifest in our life today.

“Beware what you ask for, for you might get it” says a wise old proverb.

  • What does it take to turn a curse into a blessing?

Some say Dionysos and Apollo are two sides of the same coin. How does Dionysos, God of Eternal Life, Inspiration, Creativity, Passion, Wine, Masks and Illusion and Apollo, god of the Sun, Medicine, Music, Light and Logic, manifest in our lives today?

  • Why are their energies so charged for us?

  • Why is life experience valued less than science?

  • How do these Gods feature in our ‘cultured and civilised’ western world and in the crises we find ourselves in?

These and many other questions will be explored in a weekend of myth, discussions and playful storytelling exercises.

All welcome. No previous knowledge of Greek Myths or Storytelling is required.

Testimonials

“Stella as a teacher of Myth and the power of it, has influenced me for life. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to receive her teaching as a student and friend. I felt her unwavering connection to the ancient Myths come through in her ability to articulate through both language and frequency of being.” ~ Coco Kami, U.K. 2017

“Stella has a deep knowledge of Greek Mythology but more than that I would say that she is such connection with ancient Greek Gods that is impossible not to transfer some of their powers to students. She created the perfect ground for students to meet and at last understand the Greek gods whose behaviour and actions so often are misunderstood. However, through her we all felt connected with them and felt their different powers in our tellings.” ~ Maria Zourari, Greece Heart and Craft 2015

"Stella’s excitement, passion and knowledge about Greek Goddesses and Gods is infectious and I will forever be very grateful for that." ~ Inger Lodberg, Denmark. Heart and Craft 2014
