Talk by Annie Blampied on the spiritual care and companionship we can offer those who are close to death.
In this talk, Annie Blampied will share some of her experiences working with people who are on the threshold of death, and the conundrums and paradoxes people face at this time. “I don’t believe in God, but I do hope I will see my Mum again when I die”, an elderly gentleman said to her recently. We all have in common the knowledge that one day, we will die. How can we prepare for this moment in the midst of living a full and loving life? How do we find the courage and trust to let go into the ultimate unknown? How can we support our loved ones in letting go, and bless them on their journey? During this evening, Annie will also introduce a part time training and development course, called Quietude, that will run from September 2020 to June 2021. It is for people wishing to offer spiritual care and companionship to those crossing the threshold of death.
Annie is a Hospice Chaplain and OneSpirit Interfaith Minister, with a background in Steiner Waldorf Education. She is also a Mindfulness Teacher, Celebrant, Storyteller, Spiritual Counsellor, Soul Midwife and Authentic Presence Practitioner.
