About the performer
Ralitsa Penkova was born in 1992 in Ruse, Bulgaria. As a part of a family of musicians, her interest in music developed early and she began her piano lessons at the age of 6 at the National Music School of Arts in Rousse. After her graduation she continued her studies at the University of Arts in Bremen, Germany where she started her active solo career. During her musical education she participated on various concerts, Festivals and Piano Masterclasses across Europe. She was also a prize winner of several International Piano Competitions such as the Steinway Prize Concert - Competition at the Steinway House in Hamburg Germany, Franz Schubert Piano Competition among others. She has played regularly as a Soloist with the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra, International Music Festival "Elias Kanetti" Student Orchestra and the International Music Festival "Hellas" - Student Orchestra in Lesbos, Greece. Ralitsa Penkova currently lives in Copthorne and works as a freelance classical pianist with an active concert activity both as a soloist and as a part of chamber music ensembles across the UK and overseas, as well as a teacher.
