WEEKEND WORKSHOP: Meeting the Wolf

WEEKEND WORKSHOP: Meeting the Wolf

A journey through painting and storytelling in celebration of St. Francis and the wolf

Who or what is the wolf for you?
When the revered and adored St. Francis of Assisi was preaching in Gubbio in central Italy, an enormous and ferocious wolf started to terrorise the inhabitants.

At first, the wolf stayed away from the town, only attacking animals or people who crossed its path. But soon the wolf came closer and closer to the town, terrifying all who lived there, until no one dared go out beyond the city walls….
Getting to know the wolf
On this weekend course, you will create reproductions of some of Giotto's most famous paintings as you look at your inner portrait, and draw upon traditional and personal stories in the search for the visible and hidden in the stories of St. Francis, one of the most inspiring characters in all of history.
Join us for reflection on light and darkness as we strive towards forgiveness and true knowledge of ourselves, and get to know St. Francis in a playful weekend that will leave you feeling refreshed and nourished.

All welcome. No prior experience of storytelling or painting needed.
