A weekend for poetry lovers and wordsmiths with Ashley Ramsden
Some people live by words: poems are on their lips, circling inside them, buzzing like bees in their blood, more fabulous than food and supple as sex, these lovers feast every day on the word waves that wash through them carrying them to beaches that only the beloved inhabit.
If you’re one of these word crazy folk then here’s a weekend to bring the poems you love or the writing that may have poured through you, so that it can find ears and hearts and most important mirrors; for as the great mystic Jacob Boehme put it “Whatever the self describes, describes the self.” (and that self you will inescapably find in all those around you).
We will play together, explore the voice and what you are a voice for, be vigilant, show up, go to naked places (in safe ways) and whirl for a while in the marvel of words. Rumi will be there, and Hafiz and all the other voices that have found your voice. In one room all who gather and those who have gathered us.
“Tread softly, for you tread on my dreams…..” Yeats
