Emerson Garden Project
Emerson Trust is seeking a Garden Manager to take over responsibility for the Emerson estate. The aim is to turn what at present is a financial liability into an asset. How this is done will depend to a certain extent on the ingenuity of the successful applicant.
Probably that person will then have working knowledge of running a public garden or an equivalent experience.
Applicants should have experience and a keen interest in biodynamics. Knowledge or experience in landscaping and water-gardens would also be useful. In addition applicants should be willing to work alongside our current gardener for a year before she retires, so that her extensive knowledge can be passed on.
The Garden Manager would have to interact with various other departments of Emerson Trust, so a flexible, team player is essential.
In the future Emerson is considering involving special needs and/or those undergoing rehabilitation from a major illness in the garden.
Applicants would not necessarily need to have had experience in these fields, but would be expected to show that they are capable of running a multifunctional project.
