If the English countryside and its unique gardens have always been something that you have admired, either from afar or close up, then please join us for a week of gentle walking, to such places as Standen and Hever Castle in the Sussex countryside, to explore the landscape and the gardens of the Southeast of England. Along the way we hope we may discover something of how the English relate to their beloved environment and, through that, of who they actually are.

We will also explore how the landscape of England has inspired English poets in the past: we will get to know these poets through speaking their poems. There will also be opportunities to explore the English language in greater depth through writing. This is a week for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of all things English through its nature and nature poetry.

Please bring clothing and shoes suitable for walking, both for sun and rain, as well as writing and sketching materials.
