Emerson College is looking for a new chef
The College seeks a full-time chef. This is a key role within the college - the quality and freshness of our food is an essential part of our business as we cater for our own staff and students, as well as hundreds of guests who stay with us during the year.
We provide vegetarian meals for between 10 and 60 people every day, with occasional larger groups, with a focus on fresh, seasonal and tasty food. Our new Chef will also be involved in the “learning by doing” programme which begins in September 2016 with a course in The Art of Vegetarian Cooking.
We are looking for someone passionate about vegetarian food, with experience of working in a hospitality environment and catering for large numbers. It will be helpful if you have previously worked with volunteers and students and if you have any teaching experience. You should be a good team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver great food but also to manage the kitchen in terms of H&S, food hygiene, ordering stores and an awareness of cost and waste.
Approx 40 hours per week, £18,000-20,500pa, pension, 33 days paid holiday. Preferred starting date is 1 August 2016.
