SHORT COURSE: Speaking to the Stars: the meeting place between Myth and autobiographical storytelling

SHORT COURSE: Speaking to the Stars: the meeting place between Myth and autobiographical storytelling

How do we make our choices and are we ready to face the consequences? Are we free or is there such thing as Destiny?

This is an invitation for you to join Roi Gal-Or and Stella Kassimati for an adventure exploring the evolution of consciousness and the idea of Freedom through exploring ancient Greek myths, of being directly influenced by the Gods and of Heroes trying to break free from their destiny. We will discover the visions of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and share our own biographical experiences of being led, meeting destiny, discovering Freedom and navigating under silent stars through earthly trials and triumphs, learnings and yearnings.

SOS Friends of Amari 2   SOS Friends of Amari 3

This is the sixth time we run this outstanding course which culminates with an unforgettable evening of celebrating our humanity through sharing our crafted stories, with each other and with the stars, facing the tallest mountain in Crete.

With working in beautiful nature, day trips to visit the dwelling places of the Gods on the Island, fantastic food, inspiring storytelling exercises and deep philosophical reflections, this course is one of the most fun, deep and transformative storytelling processes you will ever go through!

Roi Gal-Or, is a founder of the International school of storytelling in England. He teaches the use of storytelling in service of the environment, education, healing, peace and reconciliation. Roi works with the power of stories and the imagination to inspire connection and social transformation, foster vision, possibility and personal development. When he is not at home with his wife and 3 kids you will probably find him somewhere around the world performing or magically weaving together stories  community building skills, social development games and biographical work.

Stella Kassimati is an experienced workshop leader and award winning storyteller. She teaches around the world in both Greek and English, including at Emerson College and Schumacher College, UK. Stella loves Greek myths and offers workshops on how relevant they are to us today. She has a deep passion for biographical storytelling and for enabling adults to craft and publicly perform their own or family tales with the goal of reconnecting with what it is to be human, increasing empathy and creating community. She loves teaching the craft of the storyteller because it gives people a voice and empowers them to bring more of themselves into the world and make a difference.
Stella is the founding director of Friends of Amari, an international association developing a Storytelling Centre in Amari, Crete, Greece
