SUMMER SCHOOL: Wild Foods & Deep Connection

SUMMER SCHOOL: Wild Foods & Deep Connection

Join Fergus Drennan (AKA Fergus The Forager) for a truly immersive experience exploring nature-based connection through the ancient art and craft of foraging.

This week-long course will be a practical exploration of wild foods as a gateway to understand deep connection to ourselves, to other people, to plants and animals, the seasons, and one of the most important sources of nourishing connection: what we eat. In coming to understand the how’s, what’s, when’s, why’s and where’s of working with seasonal wild food, we can also shed light on questions regarding important aspects of meaningful connection.

Over the course of the week, in the botanically rich grounds of Emerson College, as well as further afield, we will playfully and creatively come to a greater awareness and appreciation of plants, fungi and seaweeds, and how these can nourish us on many different levels: as food, as medicine, as art materials, as well as in their capacity as the holders of great stories about both themselves and, indeed, ourselves.

I look forward to foraging with you in the summer.
